Adam, you are a marvel of the ongoing joys of life. Congratulations on your new passion, from a fellow traveler in the garden universe…
OK, we know it’s going to rain…or is it? I don’t want to overwater the containers but I am nervous that I will kill them if I drench them. I have noticed that the lettuce has done better with slightly less watering…help! PS: Did you see my tomato flowers?!?!?!
Hey Adam,
Our garden is just beautiful thanks to your loving guidance! We had more red chard this weekend and lots of lettuces. Remind me which lettuces are successive? I know the bibb is not but will the red romaine keep coming back all summer? And when do we think the Broccoli will be ready to harvest?
Thanks from Treasure Farm…
Hey CJ,
All of the leaf lettuces can be continually planted. ( The arugala, oriental greens, and the leaf lettuce mixture. Maybe create to specific areas. Plant a group now, and then plant another group in two weeks. Make sure to overseed and cover with a light coating of the potting soil. As far as the broccoli, when the center head gets to a nice size, but still a tight, you can cut the entire head. Remember, the longer it stays on the plant, it will begin to flair out and eventually flower ( which is not what you want).
Wow! Cherry tomatoes ripening like crazy! And they are delicious! Adam – is there a way for me to post a picture here? There’s something growing (that I didn’t plant) that is delicious! I’m sure you’ll know what it is……..
Just sent the pics regular email.

Hi Adam,
We’ve been using straw to mulch our plants. But maybe there’s something better, that not just cut down on weeds and retain moisture, but would also add nutrition to the soil. What do you use?
Thanks!

Adam, Thanks for the info. great job. I just wish we had a tomato garden.
Do you have the dirt on where to get good soil? My friend Gail says we need 3 1/2 cubic yards. She started with mushroom dirt 2-3 years ago. Last year she didn’t plant. We think we need topsoil. Any local recommendations?
Hi Adam,
