How to plant your new “Sweet Slice” Cucumber Plant

Now that you have your cucumber in the 3 inch peat pot, you will go through the “hardening off” phase for the next 7-10 days.

You will plant the cucumber plant into the ground at the same time you put in your new heirloom tomatoes.

If you are going to let them spread over the ground, create a hill 4-5  inches high in the center with a 12 inch diameter. Plant three plants around the perimeter of each hill  2 inches deep.

If you plant to trellis your cucumbers ( vertical) plant every 10-12 inches 2 inches deep (no hill necessary)

If you love cucumbers, you can plant 2 -3 hills 24 inches apart.  ( THAT”S ALOT OF CUC’s. Remember, you will be receiving a pickling cucumber on 6/5.
